Scifiniti Publishing and TCC Africa Host Second Joint Webinar on Research Integrity and Publishing Best Practices

Training Centre in Communication (TCC Africa), in partnership with Scifiniti Publishing, successfully hosted a virtual webinar titled “Research Integrity and Publishing Best Practices in Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Research.”
This session marked the second collaborative webinar between the two organizations and the fourth webinar organized by Scifiniti Publishing overall, reflecting our continued commitment to advancing responsible research practices and scholarly communication.
The session commenced with a welcome address and introduction to the partnership by Ms. Joy Owango, Executive Director of TCC Africa, followed by opening remarks from Mr. Qasit Malik, Publishing Director at Scifiniti Publishing.
A series of insightful presentations followed:
- Reproducibility, Open Science, and Research Integrity in Computational Research by Dr. Caleb Kibet, Bioinformatician and Open Science Advocate
- Research Integrity and Publishing Best Practices in Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Research – Evidence-Based Research Integrity by Dr. Syed Shahzad Hasan, Editor-in-Chief of Evidence Synthesis in Healthcare Connect & Dr. Muhanad Hatamleh, Editor-in-Chief of Biomaterials Connect
- Research Misconduct: Fabrication, Falsification and Plagiarism by Dr. James Ayieko, Clinical Research Scientist at the Center for Microbiology Research
- Behind the Scenes: How Publishing Workflows Safeguard Research Integrity by Ms. Noureen Azher, Senior Editorial Manager at Scifiniti Publishing
The last session of the webinar was an interactive discussion session including a question-and-answer segment addressing key concerns from attendees.
The event concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Joy Owango, who emphasised the importance of sustained collaboration in promoting ethical research practices across disciplines.
This successful webinar highlights the shared mission of TCC Africa and Scifiniti Publishing to strengthen research integrity, promote transparency, and support researchers in navigating the evolving landscape of scholarly publishing.
