Structures and Construction Materials Connect

Aims and Scope

Structures and Construction Materials Connect is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal advancing knowledge in construction materials and structural engineering. The journal publishes experimental, analytical, computational, and field-based studies on innovative and sustainable materials, structural behaviour and design, durability, resilience, monitoring, rehabilitation, and emerging construction technologies. Particular emphasis is placed on research that connects material innovation with validated structural performance and practical engineering implementation. The journal thus encourages the submission of cutting-edge original research articles, critical reviews and state-of-the-art papers covering a broad spectrum of related engineering topics, including, but not limited to:

  • Sustainable and Low-Carbon Construction Materials
  • Concrete, Cementitious and Alkali-Activated Materials
  • Steel, Timber, Masonry and Composite Structures
  • Structural Analysis, Design and Optimisation
  • Experimental Testing and Structural Validation
  • Durability and Whole-Life Performance
  • Structural Reliability, Safety and Resilience
  • Structural Strengthening, Rehabilitation and Adaptive Reuse
  • Structural Health Monitoring, Sensing and Digital Twins
  • AI and Data-Driven Structural Engineering
  • Additive Manufacturing and Automated Construction
  • Modular, Prefabricated and Emerging Structural Systems
