Mustafa Ergen is a Professor at Istanbul Technical University. Previously, he served as Chief Advisor at Türk Telekom and co-founded the Silicon Valley startup WiChorus Inc., which focused on 4G technologies and was acquired by Tellabs (now Coriant). He was also a National Semiconductor Fellow (now Texas Instruments) at the University of California, Berkeley, where he co-founded the Distributed Sensing Lab, focusing on statistical sensor intelligence and vehicular communication.
Mustafa completed four programs at the University of California, Berkeley: Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering, an M.A. degree in International Studies, and the Management of Technology (MOT) program at the Haas School of Business. He received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering as valedictorian from Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ).
Prof. Ergen has more than 40 patent applications, numerous publications, and has authored three books. Mobile Broadband and Multi-Carrier Digital Communications focus on wireless communications and were published by Springer. His third book on entrepreneurship, titled Girişimci Kapital: Silikon Vadisi Tarihi ve Startup Ekonomisi, was published by KUY, where he is an adjunct professor. He is also the founder of venture-funded Ambeent Inc., focusing on 5G Wi-Fi and artificial intelligence.
